Pot Blodyn – now open

This is, hopefully, a ‘baby step’ towards opening the whole Garden very soon and it comes in the wake of the announcement by the Welsh Government on May 11th giving the go-ahead for garden centres to open.

So, if you want to stock up on plants, peat-free compost, seeds, pots, Botanic Garden honey and other garden items, do come along to see us and say hello. Admission is FREE, 10am – 5pm.

The main Garden, the coffee shop, the second-hand bookshop and the toilets are closed – but Plant Sales is open!

We have a team of staff and volunteers here to welcome you, help you get parked and we will be urging everyone to follow the ‘social distancing’ advice and keep two metres apart.

As we are adhering to the guidelines of the Horticulture Trades Association, there will be a limit on the number of people in the Garden Centre area at any one time but there will be a simple queuing system, with clear signs and markers on the floor to help you maintain your distance from others.

We are also launching our Saving Pollinators Assurance Scheme, selling plants from local suppliers who have signed our Peat-Free and Pesticide-Free pledge, which will:

  • Protect the pollinators that visit your garden
  • Guarantee the sustainability of the soil in which your plants are grown
  • Safeguard the biodiversity where you live, and
  • Support local, independent plant nurseries and growers

And we have for sale a selection of wonderful plants grown by staff and volunteers for our Annual Plant Sale, held every year to raise money for the Garden.

All transactions will be by card only – no cash sales

No dogs allowed

Be well – do not visit if you are showing signs of any of the symptoms of the virus

Stay safe – keep your distance and stay two metres apart

Heed the guidance – stay home if you have serious or underlying health conditions or are caring for loved ones who do

Keep local – stay close to home and don’t travel far

And we look forward to welcoming you back into the Botanic Garden proper very soon.
