Banksias take their name from Sir Joseph Banks, the botanist who was on Captain Cook’s ship ‘Endeavour’ that arrived in Australia in 1770.
Around 60 Banksia species grow in the south-west of Western Australia.
Look for bull banksia in the Australian zone in the Great Glasshouse.
