Quiver Tree

Aloe dichotoma

Khoi-Khoi tribesmen of the South African Cape used quiver tree branches as quivers for their arrows – hence the tree’s name.

They also hollowed out the large trunks of dead trees, to use as a natural fridge for water, meat and vegetables.
