There cannot be many other plants in the world that are used, both as a fridge and as a source for arrow quivers.
Khoi-Khoi tribesmen of the South African Cape used quiver tree branches as quivers for their arrows – hence the tree’s name.
They also hollowed out the large trunks of dead trees, to use as a natural fridge for water, meat and vegetables.
