Tree nymph butterfly

Idea leuconoe

Tree nymphs are the cool dudes of Plas Pilipala

They fly slow and gracefully, and when resting, they outstretch their wings, rather than tucking them up like most other butterflies. Even when feeding tree nymphs gently flutter their wings to keep themselves cool.

They can take their time as their wing pattern tells predatory birds that they are poisonous.

Where in the World

Tree nymphs live in the dense tropical forests of Borneo and the Far East.

You can find this butterfly in Plas Pilipala.
