HR Manager
Tracy Hawthorne joined the National Botanic Garden of Wales in September 2026 as Interim Lead for Human Resources, providing maternity cover.
Tracy holds an LLM in Employment Law, an MSc in Human Resources Management, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She brings a wealth of HR experience gained through a distinguished career in policing, where she operated at Assistant Director level before retiring from roles within the Police Service, the Home Office and the National Police Chiefs’ Council.
This is Tracy’s first HR role within the charity sector and she is excited by the opportunities presented by the unique environment of the National Botanic Garden of Wales. She looks forward to working with staff, volunteers and trade union representatives to progress the Garden’s people agenda.
