The Head of Retail and Admissions is an important role in the Commercial Management Team, supporting the Garden’s core mission, ethos and ongoing success. As the head of department Morgan manages a small team of visitor service staff and works collaboratively with other departments. The role is key in setting and achieving high standards of customer service and visitor enjoyment.
Morgan joined the National Botanic Garden of Wales team in March 2018. He has a 20 year background in the Hospitality industry, from serving Real Ale in Essex country pubs to running students’ Union nightclubs and speciality Gin Bars in Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire.
Morgan also has experience in the Heritage, retail and charity sectors and was the operations Manager of Llanelly House, a fully restored Georgian town house, and has been the secretary of the Hanes Sir Gar Historical society network.
He has been a member of the Gardens for many years and is a frequent visitor with his two sons. Morgan has a huge passion for the Welsh countryside and cultural heritage and is often to be found up a mountain or in a castle.
