The Friends of the City of Swansea Botanical Complex is a voluntary group that has been supporting the Botanical Gardens at Singleton Park and Clyne Gardens for over 20 years. The volunteers run a plant shop in a polytunnel just inside the main gate of Singleton Botanical Gardens. The shop, under normal circumstances, is open every Wednesday of the year and on Saturdays between Easter and the end of September.
In later summer and autumn, the volunteers collect seed from the Botanical Gardens’ magnificent walled border to sow and replenish our stock of unusual herbaceous perennials. We also benefit from plants that the gardeners’ have lifted and divided and take cuttings from a wide range of shrubs.
The Friends also buy-in stock from reputable UK growers and sell a wide variety of trees, shrubs, herbs, bulbs, seasonal vegetables and herbaceous perennials, all grown in peat-free compost.
