Be a gardener for a day

Thu 12 Mar 2026 10am - 2:30pm Book here

Step behind the scenes and get your hands dirty with our exclusive ‘Gardener for a Day’ workshop, where you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with our expert horticulture team in one of Wales’ most stunning gardens.

This isn’t about watching from the sidelines, you’ll be actively working with our horticulturists with ongoing bed redevelopment.  This will include learning the art of soil preparation, lifting and dividing of the existing collection, and the addition of new plants.

Our skilled gardeners will be on hand to share their knowledge and techniques. Whether you’re a keen amateur or dreaming of creating your own flourishing garden at home, you’ll gain practical skills and insider knowledge that only comes from working with professionals who tend these world-class gardens every day. Best of all, you’ll leave with a plant or two from the garden itself to nurture in your own space—a living reminder of your day and a head start on your own horticultural journey. Limited spaces available for this rare opportunity to experience the National Botanic Garden of Wales from a gardener’s perspective.
