This summer, the National Botanic Garden of Wales invites families, young explorers, and curious minds to take part in Discover & Grow, an exciting programme of hands-on science, nature, sustainability, and outdoor learning experiences.
Blending ecology, chemistry, microscopy, astronomy, horticulture, conservation, and creative outdoor activities, the programme offers interactive workshops and family sessions designed to inspire curiosity through real scientific investigation and immersive discovery.
Chemistry in Action
This practical chemistry session explores exothermic and endothermic reactions through real experiments using laboratory equipment including calorimeters, thermometers, balances, and glassware. Participants investigate energy changes, activation energy, and Le Chatelier’s Principle in a fun and accessible environment suitable for all ages.
