This summer, the National Botanic Garden of Wales invites families, young explorers, and curious minds to take part in Discover & Grow, an exciting programme of hands-on science, nature, sustainability, and outdoor learning experiences.
Blending ecology, chemistry, microscopy, astronomy, horticulture, conservation, and creative outdoor activities, the programme offers interactive workshops and family sessions designed to inspire curiosity through real scientific investigation and immersive discovery.
Microscopic Worlds
Participants explore the hidden microscopic universe inside moss, pond water, flowers, soil, and even fingernails using professional microscopes. Families will prepare scientific slides using stains and dyes while discovering miniature ecosystems and unseen natural details in a highly interactive laboratory-style workshop.
