This summer, the National Botanic Garden of Wales invites families, young explorers, and curious minds to take part in Discover & Grow, an exciting programme of hands-on science, nature, sustainability, and outdoor learning experiences.
Blending ecology, chemistry, microscopy, astronomy, horticulture, conservation, and creative outdoor activities, the programme offers interactive workshops and family sessions designed to inspire curiosity through real scientific investigation and immersive discovery.
Welcome to Pantwgan Farm
Join us for a guided walk on the National Nature Reserve to meet our Welsh Black cattle and their calves, and discover how conservation grazing benefits both wildlife and people.
Find out how these native cattle help create healthy habitats, support sustainable food production, improve soil health, store carbon and build resilience to flooding and drought. We’ll also dig a small soil pit to explore the hidden world beneath our feet and uncover why healthy soils are so important for nature, climate and communities.
A relaxed outdoor adventure for the whole family.
Please note: the walk will take place across uneven ground on the NNR, so sturdy footwear is recommended.
Attendees need to purchase garden admission alongside their booking.
