Join us for a fascinating Magnificent Moth Morning, celebrating the extraordinary variety and beauty of moths found in our gardens and countryside.

To coincide with the display of beautifully stitched moths in Stitching Botanical’s Nature in Stitch exhibition, the Conservation Moth Recording Group will be at the Oriel for a special live moth trapping, identification and recording session.

This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the hidden world of moths and see these often-overlooked creatures up close. The group will demonstrate how moths are safely trapped, identified and recorded, sharing fascinating insights into the different species that visit the Botanic Garden.

Visitors will be able to see a selection of living moths at close quarters, learn how to recognise different species and find out more about their important role in our ecosystems. There will also be a unique opportunity to compare the delicate forms, patterns and colours of the living moths with the intricate stitched moths featured in Nature in Stitch

Whether you are already fascinated by moths, enjoy wildlife and nature, or simply want to discover something new, this informal and engaging morning offers a chance to look at these remarkable insects in a whole new way.

Come along, meet the moths and discover just how magnificent they really are!
