Welly Wednesday features an hour of fun, outdoor activities, storytelling and exploring for pre-schoolers during term time.
Welly Wednesday activities are at 11am and are included in the price of entry (under 5s are free) and run every Wednesday during term time.
This week’s activity, the 3 April, is a session called ‘What’s in the pond?’. After the usual bring-and-share a snack, the children will meet a little tadpole and go and visit the pond to look at the frog-spawn there. Children will also go pond dipping to see what else in the pond. At the end of the session the children will create a puppet to show the life cycle of a tadpole, and have a story called ‘the teeny weeny tadpole’.
Next week’s activity, the 10 April, is a session called ‘Easter bunnies’. After the usual bring-and-share a snack, the children will find some hungry bunnies in the woods and then look for and collect things they like to eat. The children will make their own bunny ears and will use their imaginations to pretend to be rabbits. There will be an egg hunt at the end as well as a rabbit story and song time.
